Meditation
I've tried meditation and it didn't work! My mind is just naturally too busy!
Me too, friend. Me too.
We’ve all seen the serene expressions on the faces of Buddhist monks while they’re in their third hour of meditation. So why is it that you find yourself internally screaming while you meditate for two minutes?
There’s nothing wrong with you - your mind is doing what it does. But there’s a chance you’ve just not been to the right class yet.
What type of meditation is this?
There are many types of meditation: breath-focused, mindfulness, loving-kindness meditation - the list goes on and on. But all involve gaining a greater awareness of the mind.
The practise I follow and teach is less about putting a stop to thoughts, and more about learning to watch the flow of those thoughts without drowning in them, gaining a sense of space and silence. We start small, and anyone can do it. So if you’ve tried meditation before and struggled, my classes might be for you.
